openBIM & IFC at the top, buildingSMART International Summit in Paris, March 26th to 29th – Autodesk sponsor strongly supports the event

March 26-28: Paris becomes the international capital of BIM

For the first time in fifteen years, France hosts the summit of openBIM led by buildingSMART International.

A sign of recognition of the dynamism of France in the pre-standardization of BIM, and also an opportunity to promote French actions in the digital transition of Construction around BIM internationally. This event is organized by buildingSMART France-Mediaconstruct, the only association representing openBIM in France. The summit, which brings together more than 300 BIM experts and influencers from around the world, is open to the public on March 26 with the international openBIM day!

Participants in the public plenary on March 26th will immerse themselves in the heart of openBIM in a practical way. In the long run, this international summit of openBIM is part of the French movement of the Industry of the future and the Smart City, but also the French Tech. It also participates in major standardization work – at French, European and international levels – to facilitate BIM access to all stakeholders including VSEs.

The key theme of this summit is interoperability, namely the development of open standards for the design, construction and facility management of BIM projects. Because without any professional or technology, BIM becomes impossible, and openBIM concerns all the players in the Construction industry as well as all Software Companies.

Aware of the importance of this summit for France, 8 partners are currently supporting them.

The premiere, Autodesk, loyal to its commitments and vision, and proud to have worked for the creation of the International Alliance for Interoperability in 1995 which became buildingSMART International, wanted to bring the highest level of sponsorship, Platinum Sponsor to remember its unwavering support to the action of buildingSMART International and its french chapter for openBIM!

The other sponsors are then:

– Event Sponsor: The Cnam

– Silver Sponsors: Colas, FINALCAD, Groupe ADP, Saint-Gobain

– Bronze Sponsors: BIM & CO, Trimble

What are BIM and openBIM?

Building Information Model corresponds to the digital model of a construction operation (building, infrastructure, new or renovation), that is to say a database of a work embellished with a 3D representation.

Building Information Modeling, another BIM translation, refers to processes that allow all the participants of a construction operation (made in a digital model) to work collaboratively.

openBIM is not a software but a way of working in BIM, which brings together interoperable IT processes and tools, based on international and European standards, or open standards.
